Public Hanging 22 – August 23, 2011  – Gallery X, New Bedford, Massachusetts

David Boyce of the New Bedford Standard-Times said, “…Ron Fortier has several abstract paintings that owe something to Cy Twombly’s scribble work, but become Fortier’s own in his clean, regimental treatment. The breadth of his gray scale contributes to the subtlety and calm intrigue of these stately works. Fado – Fatum – February 2, 2013  – Colo Colo Gallery, New Bedford, Massachusetts

Don Wilkinson,  the Art Beat columnist of the New Bedford Standard-Times said, “Down the hill, at the Colo Colo Gallery, Ron Fortier’s one-man show, “Fado-Fatum,” is a testament to the marriage of chaos and order. Fortier’s works, which employ graphite, charcoal, pastel and cellophane tape, are small, tightly rendered boxes, squares or rectangles that (almost) fully contain the scribbling of a lunatic, or the calligraphy of an alien.”  Complete Article

New Bedford Harbor in a New Light – May 9 – August 8, 2013, New Bedford Art Museum

Don Wilkinson,  the Art Beat columnist of the New Bedford Standard-Times wrote that New Bedford Harbor in a New Light “… involves more than 40 artists… Other notable works: Eric Lintala’s “Resolute,” a simple yet elegant steel sculpture; Yvonne Leonard’s “Gyre,” a deeply layered print; Ron Fortier’s “Pressure,” an onion-skin paper wall hanging, densely scribbled; and Brenda Figuerido’s “Whaling City,” a mostly gray painting, evocative on levels beyond the purely visual. ” Complete Article
